Bronx Legal Aid Society Contract

This contract (“Contract”) is entered into by and between the Bronx Legal Aid Society, hereinafter referred to as “B.L.A.S.”, the party which services will provided.

WHEREAS, B.L.A.S. is a nonprofit organization providing legal services to individuals in the Bronx, New York; and

WHEREAS, the party to which services will be provided is in need of legal representation;

NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree follows:

1. Services	B.L.A.S. agrees to provide legal representation and counsel to the party in all matters pertaining to their legal needs, including but not limited to civil and criminal cases, family law, immigration, and housing disputes.
2. Scope Representation	The scope of representation shall be determined in accordance with the needs of the party and the laws governing legal practice in the state of New York.
3. Retainer	The party agrees to pay a retainer fee to B.L.A.S. in the amount of $X upon execution of this Contract. This retainer shall be applied towards legal fees and expenses incurred in the course of representation.
4. Term	This Contract shall commence on the date of execution and shall continue until the completion of the representation, unless terminated earlier in accordance with the provisions herein.
5. Governing Law	This Contract shall be governed by the laws of the state of New York.
6. Termination	Either party may terminate this Contract upon written notice to the other party. In the event of termination, the party shall remain responsible for any legal fees and expenses incurred up to the date of termination.
